So far so good! A few days ago I started out feeling really dizzy and sick to my stomach. I tried to lay down and my heart kept fluttering really bad and my head felt like it was the ocean. I checked my blood pressure and it was low. I checked it a few more times over the next hour and it was still low. Finally I decided to go to the doctor since I couldn’t walk a straight line.

Their EKG wasn’t working so I didn’t get that done, but she said my heart sounded OK. She had me close my eyes and stand up and I almost fell over. She did the cotton ball test on my feet to see if I felt it. She told me to close my eyes and tell her when I felt it touch my feet. I did as I was told and thought about peeking to see if she was doing anything. I finally felt it touch the top of my right foot. She had me open my eyes again. She asked if I felt her touch me anywhere else. No I didn’t. According to her and her witness, my mom, she was rubbing it all over both feet and I didn’t feel a thing!!! I find that really creepy! We are back to the neuropathy thing again. She thinks I have it, my Rheumy thinks I have it and my Gastro thinks I have it. My Neurologist won’t even test me for it, so it’s time to find a new Neurologist.

She gave me a sample and a prescription for Cymbalta. I started it yesterday and there is already a difference. I have been in a lot of pain the past week. About an hour after I took it I could walk normal. The pain was gone! Now, over the past 4 years since I have been diagnosed I have tried 4 or 5 or more different NSAIDs. They have never helped. I was still in pain. I knew there had to be something out there that would work! I have finally found it!

This is only the 2nd day so I have to watch out for any reactions to it. I am very sensitive to medicine. So far so good! The only thing that I have noticed so far is that food doesn’t taste the same. My coffee this morning… blech!!! I’m drinking it cause it’s coffee and I know it really does taste good and that my mouth is just playing tricks on me, but yeah, it really tastes bad. Everything I ate yesterday had an off taste to it also. I figure this might help with my weight loss since I’m not really enjoying my food!

So the pluses so far…

Eating less due to messed up taste buds

Feeling happy!

More energy

The minuses so far…

Messed up taste buds

Waking up in the middle of the night (I made the mistake of taking it at night)

Well, that’s it for now! If anyone else has tried it let me know what you think of it in the comments!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Also if you have a Sjogren’s blog or one that you think I might enjoy let me know so I can check it out!

Well, I had my Rheumy appointment today. The news wasn’t too bad. She has ruled out Rheumatoid but I do have one of the markers for Lupus. She said it seems like it is mild so it isn’t something to worry about. She is going to keep checking my blood to see if any of the other markers come up at a later date. My white blood count is finally normal! It’s been low forever.

I was worried since my Sjogren’s started acting up last week. The fatigue was so bad. I couldn’t stay up past 8pm and that was with a nap! My joints were killing me and I felt fluish. I feel like I have a low-grade temp,  am really cold and have body aches. That usually lasts for 3 or 4 days. Luckily today I woke up feeling much better. I still have some pain but she thinks it is caused from the Raynaud’s. After the trip to the doctor, lunch, and the grocery store I was worn out and needed a nap, so I’m not totally back to my version of normal. Either way I am doing better and not getting worse!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the life that you have!

Soap Sox

I started making my Soap Sox a few months ago. Since I tend to be at the doctor often I crochet while I’m there. It helps to pass the time.  The past few times I was working on a Soap Sox and had a bunch of interest. I though huh… maybe I could sell these! We’ll see what happens. It should turn out to be good for spending money! 🙂 They are 100% cotton with nylon weaved in them for that extra exfoliation. I love them and so far so do the people who I have given them to as gifts! Well, that’s what they tell me anyway!  Here is a pic that my wonderful friend Valerie Cash took. Check out her blog!

Sorry it’s been so long since I posted. Life has been difficult and those of you that know me know what has happened. It’s not something to post for the whole world to know. Things are going to be difficult for a while. This doesn’t involve my health, so that is a plus.

On the positive side the rest of my life has been well. I’ve been able to work in my yard and get things done. The pain that I had during the winter… well it’s not all gone, but it’s not at the level that it was at. I am able to get out and about and I’m not having to fake it as much.

I went to have lunch with my wonderful husband today on the square. We had a good lunch and a nice time visiting. We walked around a bit and found a bookstore called The Next Chapter. My hubby found a crochet book for me and I decided to buy it. Next thing I know… ummm… I think I’m going to be volunteering to teach basic crochet classes! LOL! I need to find a basic pattern that I can teach. I taught myself a few years ago and am still learning myself. It’s kind of scary, but I figure if I can teach them something basic and they like it and it becomes a lifelong hobby for them then it is worth it. I left my info and we’ll see if they contact me!

I have also lost 5.5 pounds on Weight Watchers so far! Woot!!!

Well, I’m off to bed for now. I’ll try and keep up better in the future!
